Hey all! I’m actually in my normal spot on turnaround day. Nice to be back to my old routine. This probably won’t last though- I’m expecting visitors for 3 out of the 4 next turnarounds. I’d rather have visitors than my bank and wifi.
I’m not quite sure what to expect this cruise. My colleague has been promoted to Head Broadcast and we have a new hire in our department. This cruise also contains the Super Bowl. Plus I’m in the middle of shooting a spoof rap video and cutting a friend’s demo reel. Busy, busy.
Last cruise was great for me- I would say the best so far. In my last post, I mentioned my new friend that was cruising last time…she will be greatly missed this cruise. We had a lot of fun and I’m grateful for the connection. I went to a lot of new places in my normal ports last week. We only have 4 ports this cruise- 2 of which I visit on every cruise, and one of which is my least favorite. The other is Labadee, Haiti- my favorite port.
Look back a few posts for the info I initially wrote about Haiti- mainly that the general consensus (even from the Haitian government) is that we need to continue to call on Labadee as a further loss of jobs is the last thing their country needs right now. I assisted in the loading of about 12 pallets of crutches and walkers this morning- and we are expecting many more before departure. In addition we have been holding a clothing and food drive and we will deliver those supplies as well. Each guest also receives a letter outlining the various ways of donating to the relief effort.
I had many people I knew sign off today, but most of them will be back before I sign off. However, I’m losing a lot more people at the end of this cruise that will not be coming back here. Hopefully I’ll find some new friends in the people that signed on today.
Check out Facebook for some new pictures- after fighting with my computer in San Juan and for a couple hours today I finally managed to post a few. Enjoy!
Now back to the ship- talk to you all from San Juan.
Happy late birthday to my dad! And happy on-time birthday to my Cruise Director!

Hi Val!
I am getting caught up on reading your blog entries after a very busy past couple weeks. I am so excited that you got to be a part of some relief effort for Haiti. That is awesome. I got your email as well and I will reply to that seperately soon.
